Descriere: În regia lui Kevin Smith, filmul “Politai în misiune” ne prezinta doi vechi colegi de echipa de la NYPD, care se afla pe urmele unui baseball-card extrem de valoros, trezindu-se în competitie cu un adversar fara scrupule, un gangster obsedat de obiecte de colectie.
Dar înainte de a recupera mult ravnitul card, reprezentandu-l pe mijlocasul de baseball Andy Pafko în meciul din 1952, ei trebuie sa o salveze pe o frumoasa mexicana, care detine cheia catre niste milioane bune de dolari aflati în conturile unei banci off-shore—si care devine, din cauza lor, martora unei crime notorii.

Detectiv cu experienta, Jimmy Monroe (Bruce Willis), are nevoie sa încaseze banii pentru vestitul card Pafko ’52  pentru a plati nunta fiicei sale, dar conform legilor lui Murphy…cartela îi este subtilizata, înainte de a o putea valorifica.  Paul Hodges (Tracy Morgan) este “partenerul de echipa” al lui Jimmy, dar el este asa de framantat de infidelitatea sotiei sale, încat nu se poate concentra asupra cazului pe care-l au de rezolvat.

Jimmy si Paul s-au bagat în bucluc si nu mai au nimic de pierdut, asa încat ei vor încalca toate regulile meseriei – inclusiv apeland la ajutorul  hotului profesionist Dave (Seann William Scott), care-l calca pe nervi pe Paul tot timpul cat cei doi politisti se lupta sa rezolve cazul.

Warner Bros. Pictures prezinta o productie Marc Platt, “Politai în misiune,” în regia lui Kevin Smith, dupa un scenariu de Robb Cullen & Mark Cullen, avandu-I pe generic pe Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan, Adam Brody, Kevin Pollak, Guillermo Diaz, Ana de la Reguera si Seann William Scott.  Filmul este produs de Marc Platt, Polly Johnsen si Michael Tadross.  Adam Siegel, Robb Cullen si Mark Cullen sunt producatorii executivi.
Echipa de creatie îi include pe directorul de imagine David Klein, scenograful Michael Shaw, designerul de costume Juliet Polcsa si muzicianul, nominalizat la premiul Academiei, Harold Faltermeyer.  Conform traditiei, Smith realizeaza singur montajul propriului sau film.
